as most of y'all know, I've been consumed the last few weeks with putting up the fence. I'm not finished with it either, which is somewhat disheartening......and my garden has gotten a little out of control. So I called in some reinforcements!

Today, I built a portable chicken tunnel, or a small tractor, whatever you wanna call it, just wide enough to fit between my rows, put three of the girls in it. Now they can get their fine feathered fannies busy and help me get the weeds under control!




I don't intend on leaving them in it overnight and it's easy enough to drag to the next spot, esp in the soft garden dirt

I have seen people with Alabama plates selling chickens, I sell my surplus roos and eggs and do quite well,  I usually go on Saturday and most of the time I get there before 9am and sell out in I'm not kidding 30 mins, the car doesn't even get parked.  I do have my candler's license but not the other and have never been asked for either.  I'm taking a hen to sell tomorrow so we will see how we do.  If your interested I can tell you the best chicken selling spots.

I believe Cartersville is $30 for the season. But my Saturday morning are busy with daughters sports.
Maybe next year we will have enough eggs to try to work it out, especially since hubby quit Home Depot and only has school bus route to schedule around.

He spent part of this terribly hot day adding 10 more horizontal nipples to my pvc waterer.
And he added a valve to each section so I can fill a bowl if need be for them to stand in and cool their feet.
Plus the goslings love the bowl/cat litter pan.

My egg production was WAY down, then we realized the waterer was getting air in it. So we added the bucket waterers back in, and finally today are back to 25 with more still laying.

Hubby also added an air release pipe taller than the height of the 55 gal bucket. Amazing what a difference that made in water pressure!

Thank you PapaChaz for the pvc nipple idea! I'm using horizontal ones myself since I have a few hens who love to lean on the vertical ones to make puddles.

Hey my oliver egger started laying again!!!, got my first one tody and maybe tomorrow I will get a blue I think my girls are slackers, but not my leghorn and brown layers

Methinks The Rooster James Bond might've snuck one in, after all. Maybe too early to say, but is this possibly a EE x BO mix? Not that it matters much cuz it's so cute. :)

I ask because of the tan markings showing up int the wings & tail.
