YO GEORGIANS! :)

Goldie, I want your CCL!

So, the renters just left. They were here for a week. And, you know my post about my hens weren't laying.....well, found a few in the refrigerator downstairs. I know now that the little 10 year old was getting them when we weren't looking! And, yesterday I gave him a double yolker for helping me and this is where I found it this morning! No good deed goes unpunished!

I had my first ever chicken loss today. One of my little ones evidently tried to hatch either last night or early this morning. When Grandaddy found the egg, it was partially hatched and the chick was dead. I am assuming fully absorbed. Not sure what went wrong. I can't wait to get home tomorrow and assess what is left...

Sorry, so many things contribute to loss, but it is still so sad, even after the umpteenth time.

Some of my babies I think the heat is getting to the really young ones, I have put out cold water, change it regularly put ice in it give them water melon, I have lost a few. They have shade lots of it, and puddles to soak in, the turkey (tom) likes to lay in the water in the shade, I should get a picture of him, he is so sweet too..
