YO GEORGIANS! :)

Speaking of weather....strange weather.....have you guys heard of HAARP?  It's our weather machine.  It is located in Alaska.  Well, actually, there are 8 locations now around the world.  It is being used to control the weather and there is lots of talk about weather warfare.  The Navy says that they will have total control of the weather in 2017.  There are lots of articles about it on the internet.  I have been following it for years.  Go to You tube and download some of the info.  Many think that the hurricane in FL this past month was guided by HAARP.  They say they have proof of it.  Anyway, everyone should be aware of this.  It is not just a conspiracy theory, it is a real thing.  Check it out.
can they please send us some rain ?

Woohoo!! Finally got my second roost up and Betty's back in the house without a dog kennel and survived her first night without any battle wounds!!! Only took months...

Why do all the protein boosting treats only include cat food? What's wrong with dog food? I haven't tried either yet, just some added oatmeal and meal worms. The girls are replacing feathers quickly but I was just thinking that some added Costco salmon and sweet potato blend wouldn't hurt...or would it?

Got into the new incubator Sunday afternoon to see how it looked on the inside. In case you've never seen one of these, I'll describe how it works.

A kerosene burner, similar to a kerosene lamp, goes here

This damper controls the intensity of the flame.

The damper is controlled by this counterweight which is connected to the thermostat on the inside.

The chimney of the burner goes through a water reservoir which heats the water and circulates it through the black pipe on the inside.

The body is two layers of wood separated by a sheet of cardboard.
The fresh air holes on each side are offset so the air can circulate but not create a draft. The top has one adjustable sliding vent.

I filled the water tank and pipe and only found one small leak in the tank that I can solder back. The woodwork is all good except one leg needs repair. Off course, it needs to be cleaned, stripped and refinished.

I'm thinking of using the water tank and pipe as a heat sink and attach a 6' heat tape to the pipe. That will give me 42 watts for heat. Very similar to a styrofoam incubator. I'll control the heat tape with a wafer thermostat mounted on the rear wall. I want to get the heat worked out before adding a fan. Since I only plan on hatching in this, a fan may not be necessary. I'll have to see how consistent the heat is. And then there's humidity.

There are two original inserts. The top one, where the eggs go, is wire mesh. The bottom one is burlap stretched within a wood frame. I don't know if this was kept damp to maintain humidity or not. It does seem feasible.

This is going to be a fun winter project.

Thoughts? Recommendations?

I know that a lot of peafowl folks add dog food to their birds' feed, or offer it as a side treat.

You seriously come across some of the coolest stuff.

What's up everyone? It's been a while since I have been around. Got some questions about my galvanized waterer rusting. What does it hurt? How can I clean it? Should I just buy a new one? Thanks in advance for the help
