YO GEORGIANS! :)

So, do any of you watch Coop Dreams? It's a small reality series about a guy who decides to begin homesteading. He buys a farm and then adds chickens, then goats, garden, etc. Well, we have been watching it. He has a Facebook site, too. So, one day I went to his Facebook page and posted our new coop. Next I knew, he responded and we have been going back and forth. So, now he may be coming to our home in late April to film a segment of Coop Dreams, talk chickens and have fun.

He also invited us to be his guest at Coop Camp, which I would love to go to, but it is either next week in Arizona or the following week in Texas. I am already committed to the Newnan show next week, and I am visiting my 93 year old Mom (with all my sisters) the following week.

He has also started a show called Coops for Troops. It's where you nominate a deserving Veteran to win a coop, chickens, food, feeders and tons of other chicken related things. If you know anyone who you would like to nominate, please go to their Facebook page. The show films the Veterans story and shows when the vans come to surprise him with his coop. The team puts together the coop and has the chickens to give him. It's a nice thing.

GAM, what day are you going to Newnan? I think we are going Saturday Morning. Hope to see you there. Is it too early to bring you hatching eggs for your school?

We are planning on Saturday, too. And no ... I have 2 classes getting ready to start so that would be great!

That's amazing FlowersBH! that sounds like a ton of fun! (And I'm slightly jealous )

I wanted to ask anyone that's going to the Newman show if they want any hatching eggs. My chickens are a mixed flock with Bramhas/orpingtons

Why is it that this time of year makes me sad to sell eggs for eating? As I put the eggs in the refrigerator, I found myself apologizing to the 'potential' chick that will never be hatched! LOL! I really AM a crazy chicken lady!

For those looking for chickens or eggs, the Poultry Show in Newnan, Ga is next weekend. February 18-19. Not only do they have great birds to see, they have tons of people selling chickens and hatching eggs! I am hoping for a Polish or two myself!

I cannot make it---have to show houses all weekend (sad life of chicken crazed realtor) BUT if you go and connect with anyone who has Polish (especially in mid state area) PLEASE report back! I'm starting to get sad that I cannot find any. All leads seem to go cold--and I mean I have done some serious bird tracking this week! I really am viewing purchasing online hatchery as last resort. Thanks!!!!

On the flip side, I've discovered people close to Macon who have everything from Salmon Faverolles to Appenzellers to Houdans...ahh, the elusive Polish!

flower ... I was so focused on answering your question, I forgot to comment on your news. It sounds fun, interesting, exciting. You'll have to be sure to keep us updated.
