Ok, I have this chick with a bump on the head, Silky? I have a silky and if so this would be my first Silky chick, do Silky chicks have like a fatty bump on their heads?

Kat, we have about 20 or so Silkies, and none of our Silkie chicks had or have that bump as I recall. However, your chick does look like a Silkie. A combination of black skin, feet with five toes, small size, and feathery legs and feet are better early indicators.

I am getting well ahead of myself here as my ladies are only five weeks old but I am one of those advance planner type people and since I already know we are not able to have roosters here. Does anyone "stud" their roosters? Is there such a thing?
