YO GEORGIANS! :)

ok I have a Brahma boy who is limping I have checked feet, leggs and I can't find what the problem is, any ideas on where I need to look? He has been limping for a couple of days and you can see it is really hurting him. Almost ready to cut his feathers off.

Oh, another problem I'm having is I have 3 hens all sitting in the same house on separate nests sharing momhood to be, but someone is doing her job and hatching babies but someone else is pecking them, 3 have died and I now have the others in the house with my new babies, so suggestions

Do you have any chicks or young hens for sales still?

Hi, Barbara, welcome to BYC.

I have a Barred Rock pair for sale, plus an extra male, but not just pullets. They are going on 7 weeks old now. I'm letting the buyer pick which male he/she wants to go with the pullet if both males are still here by that time. And I'll have 8 Partridge Brahma chicks ready to go in a couple of weeks, I believe it's an even split on the sexes, but would like to sell all those at once, if possible. Otherwise, will sell in pairs if I'm right on the sexes of them.

Sometimes, it's no more than he hurt his hock joint making a sudden turn, or jumped down and landed wrong. I'd palpate the hock joint and watch his face for any tenderness. I had a Delaware rooster with severe arthritis in his hocks, especially on one side and he limped quite a lot, had bad circulation because of it, making his feet prone to frostbite.

Thanks will do that this evening, he is out running, well limping around and come to think of it he was up on the shelf in the carport and flew down when he saw me, he knows he's not supposed to be up there. He is a big boy.

That's a lot of force in the landing for a big guy like that, so could be all it is. Will just take time, if so. Give him a couple of baby aspirin every couple of days for a week and see if that helps.

Oh, @Barbara Jarrett, the Brahma chicks are sold as of a few minutes ago, but I still have the Barred Rock pair and the extra cockerel.

Oh No! I hope it's not Mary. He has had a rough life already without a limp too.

I was responding to Flower's question about being the oldest... I have three sons; 41, 38, and 36. They are the delight of my life, have good jobs and I admire them. I would have all three living here in Georgia but they will not leave Panama City Beach; and they don't care for the country lifestyle that I enjoy.
Just because your kids are older than mine, doesn't mean your older! LOL! We want facts!
