Mylied offered for us to meet at her place in Ft. Valley on Saturday. It would be great if we could all informally meet at a central location, swap birds, and have some BYC fellowship Georgia style. If I hear it's a go by tomorrow morning before noon, I will smoke the ribs and bring them to the meet up on Saturday. Others can bring other items, like that delicious potato salad! So where can we all get together at last minute
I don't know where your at but I can find ya lol so are we meeting at your placeI don't know if something else is in the works, but I can offer my yard for a potluck. I'm in Fort Valley and I have a few acres, so if you want to bring your chickens that you presold or whatever, there's plenty of space. I have a bbq and could get another. But it's a pretty humble house and you'll have to excuse the overfull carport. Lol. I just processed a whole bunch of roosters too, so I could bbq some chickens. If we had more time, I'd say we could do a whole pig. Maybe another time. Anyway, just throwing that out there. I know it doesn't make up for the lost sales, which I too am really disappointed about. My chickens don't freerange and I have NPIP too, if you all are worried about biosecurity and that jazz. My neighbors 4 chickens go into my front yard, but we'd be in the back. And now I'm rambling.
Oh let's get together and then I could get my birds too.Mylied offered for us to meet at her place in Ft. Valley on Saturday. However, if I drive that far, I would like to get my hatching eggs and get Olivia her birds.
Olivia, see if you can work something in, and bring the kids. Most of us are pretty deflated. Let's not let the PPA cancellation fiasco torpedo everything. Please think about it, and bring Marie, and my hatching eggs! lol!
P.S. - Olivia - bring the cookies!![]()
i can always get it, so anytimeThere's no going back once you try sourwood honey, at least for me and Lisa it was that way. I didn't know what all the hoopla was about when I first learned of sourwood honey, but then we went to Dehlonega and tried some, and we were sold. It's so prized locally that most of it never leaves the Appalachian region, and when you do find it on the outside, it's priced higher than a cat's back.
Blueberry honey is also very nice. You may have to turn me on to your source. We don't live that far from you.
One of my AWESOME BYC friends just send us a quart jar of blackberry honey from her apiary. I guess that's about three pounds. Lisa, Christopher, and I plan to try some this evening. It has such a dark, rich color. I'll try to post a photo.
I do. Please bring it Saturday.Oh let's get together and then I could get my birds too.
I have this big Styrofoam cooler like what steaks are shipped in that was given to me anyone want it?
