YO GEORGIANS! :)

Middle of No-where Georgia! South of Atlanta, East of Macon, West of Augusta and North of Valdosta... Out in the country and loving it!
I have a Dark Brahma and Black Star, only survivors from a fox attack a year ago. Finally decided to build up my flock again, Tractor Supply tells me I bought Ameracaunas, but I'm pretty sure they are EEs.
Yesterday I fell in love with NN and got 2 little black ones, they are so precious!! I know they are called turkens, but they remind me of the vultures in Jungle Book! I loved those guys...

Yay! Welcome to the forum! You are already a winner in my mind! One, you love the middle of no where! Me too! Second, you know you got EEs and not Ameraucanas! Third, you spelled it right! and last but not least, you love NNs! I also have them and I think they are adorably ugly! Most of mine are frizzles and lay colored eggs!
Just hatched two batches of chicks! And, I just ordered some Dark Brahmas for June delivery.....all girls. I ordered 9, but will sell most of them.

Welcome beth and mommy2.

About walking away from the peeping at TS-- I didn't last week in Blue Ridge. They were selling Cornish X for $.50 so I bit to try a few meat birds. (Only six because I didn't want to be overwhelmed by eating machines I had to deal with all at once.) I also came home with a pair of BAs to keep the single chick that hatched.

I buy some things as an investment. I bought the 5 female Easter Eggers because they are always in demand.

So this past week, I hatched 40 chicks and 4 ducks. I sold the ducks and 16 chicks today. I hope to sell the rest during the week. I am going to keep two of the Ayam Cemani mixes. One is with an EEer and has puff cheeks. The other has some fun reddish brown sheens mixed with the black. Will be fun to see how they grow out. Both have the black skin/comb/etc.

Sure wish I knew how you sell chicks so easily.

I just did a day 8 candle and all 47 are developing. These are going to a feed store on consignment because he forgot to place his order.

Hi everyone!!,I am located in Georgia and have quite a rooster problem...It all started 10 months ago when one of my easter egger chickens became broody, little did i know i was going to have 20-25 chicks hatch...ten of them our roosters...I would like to find them a good home i am only asking $5.00 or $2.00 for multiple. If you have any roosters that you need to add to your flock they are very sweet and they were all hand raised. They are around 10 months old.:)

Well, one thing I do is go to the store and buy female chicks....like the 5 female easter eggers I just got. They can help be drawing cards....so the customer asks if you know for sure if you have females and you say 'yes'. So they come and see and then they fall in love with all the other chicks and the next thing you know, they have a box full! I hatch out mostly my blue and green eggs because so many people are looking for colored egg layers. I also have 1/3 of my hatches end up being frizzles, which a lot of people think are so cute and irresistable they just have to have them, too!

What kind of chicks are you hatching....sounds like a great hatch!

These are Delawares and then barnyard EE. Hopefully, the current rooster carries the blue gene. The hens are a mix of EE & BC Marans.
