YO GEORGIANS! :)

My button quail started laying a couple weeks ago. It seems I have one male and two females and the egg I cracked was fertile. So I put these six tiny eggs in the incubator. Hopefully they hatch! Regular quail chicks were already so tiny, I can't even imagine the cuteness that are button quail chicks. I have no idea why that one egg is missing it's spots.

They are so tiny! I love quail. Do you have any pictures of your adults?

I posted individual pics earlier, but here they are in a group running around like I'm going to murder them. Super flighty birds. About the size of a hamster. I found out button quail aren't even real quail. They are in a different family. They sure are cute. I have a handful of coturnix quail too.

@Mylied I see you are keeping your button quail in a small animal cage. Is that working well for you? Were the cage bars set close enough when they were chicks? How talkative are your trio? I am just wondering about having house birds myself... I kind of miss it when I am not brooding chicks. Or maybe I am just a bit nutty.

Happy Independence Day!

I got them as adults. I think chicks would get out. It's just the cage I had free. They were an impulse purchase. I want to make them an aviary eventually. But they seem healthy and happy enough. They are not noisy. They are very flighty. So they'd be like fish, look but don't touch. Even so, I love them. :)
