@Mylied I see you are keeping your button quail in a small animal cage. Is that working well for you? Were the cage bars set close enough when they were chicks? How talkative are your trio? I am just wondering about having house birds myself... I kind of miss it when I am not brooding chicks. Or maybe I am just a bit nutty.

You may could wrap a cage with wire to keep them in. My daughter is thinking about getting some for her home in Virginia. They would be indoor pets.

Bunch of cuties! I'm trying yet again to hatch out some ducks. They make it to the end and then fail to hatch on me. This time I'm upping the humidity throughout the hatch.

I was having trouble hatching ducks, too. Like only 4 out of 20 until I bought the new turner just for large eggs like ducks and turkeys. It’s a flat sheet of plastic with slits in it and the eggs lay flat and are rolled back and forth. My first hatch of ducks using that turner, I put in 20 eggs and they all hatched! The thought is that the larger eggs get too close to the heating unit with the regular turner and kills them right near hatch date.

So, I had a guy want to buy this cute chick but I wouldn’t sell it because it had cute muffs and I wanted another Easter Egger and was sure it was a female. Well, it was like the very next day I go down and dog gone if this chicks showed it’s true colors! And, it’s like 2 weeks old!

I live in the mountains of North Georgia. Looking for a silkie cockerel or a year or so old rooster. Can anyone help?

I know of someone with some REALLY good Brahma cockerels around your area, I believe, but no silkies. Have you done and internet search for breeders in your area?

I have not. I guess that’s my next step. Thanks for your time.
