I think I may have finally figured out how to post on My State Thread! I am in North Georgia-Dahlonega and need to rehome 2 roosters-

(1) Very sweet Beautiful 8 month old pure breed black/blue Ameraucana rooster(Bid Bird). He is a little skittish( we have 2 other roosters) but a big boy! He just doesn't know his own size and our little hens cant handle him=( He would be a wonderful addition to someone's farm. He loves his hens and is a great protector.

(2) 8 month old Crested Cream Legbar rooster(Rasta)-He is VERY protective of his ladies and is a great rooster. He unfortunately hates my husband and goes after him about 50% of the time hes outside. He is fine with me and has only come after me twice when I was in his coop and he felt threatened.

Both roosters have large coops and free range most of the day! We really want them to go to good homes. Please message me if you can give either of them a great home!

There is a North Georgia chicken group on Facebook, maybe check there to try to find more people local to you. Good luck!

I came across this code today that someone posted on FB. It states

1. No county, municipality, consolidated government, or other political subdivision of this state shall adopt or enforce any ordinance, rule, regulation, or resolution regulating crop management or animal husbandry practices involved in the production of agricultural or farm products on any private property.

From the person who posted it and others, it states any person in the state of Georgia may have chickens.

Any thoughts?
