YO GEORGIANS! :)

I drove the hour and a half to Shannons farm at the end of last summer with my kids to pick up some chicks and when we got there my kids raised out of the car to see the horses they just loved them, she also gave us a tour of the place, showing us the eggs and the chicks in the brooder. She was more than generous with her time.

My chicks have grown into big beautiful chickens and are doing great!!!!!

Yes, our White Leghorns hatch out yellow! I charge $12 a dozen on them and should be able to get 3 dozen without a problem and probably could get 4 dozen . Duck eggs are $2 each.

I have several ships of White Leghorns scheduled, so I do need to get him to schedule these. We can provide a receipt from the farm to him for reimbursement by his school, if he needs one.

Thanks so much mandy for the referral! Have a blessed day Nancy... Have him e mail us at [email protected] Please........thanks again!

Hello and Welcome! You don't live far from me at all....I am in Waverly Hall which is about 20 minutes north of Columbus. I see you have Coronation and Light Sussex....so do I!! Beautiful birds!!

Hello! Its so cool when you find someone thats close by lol! I use to have some bantam cochins and a couple BBRs they were great but life got really hectic and I gave them to a fellow BYCer. But I'm back now and I have just fallen in love with the sussex. I'm going this weekend to look at some pure coronation chicks so hopefully I'll have a few more.

Well, it's nice to meet you!! Good luck with the coro chicks! If you need any in the future, check back with me as I have several sussex chicks in my brooder and am just waiting for them to feather out to see if they are splits or pures. I also have an extra Pure Coronation rooster and two pure Coronation cockerels available for sale. If you have Facebook you can see some photos of my birds at Lonesome Pine Farm.

I am so glad the sun is out today in GA, I thought there for a while I was going to have to build an ark for my chickens. They were not very happy the last few days.

On another note, I was candeling eggs last night and my 8 year old (who was warned not to breath too heavy let alone move toward the eggs while the bator was open) reached for one and knocked the one I was holding right out of my hand, it cracked a little bit but not all the way through. I am fairly certain I know the answer to this but I just wanted confirmation...............will this egg hatch?????

She came up to me afterwards with tears in her eyes and said in the littliest voice "mommy I am sorry for killing the chick" I of course couldn't be mad.

They are scheduled to go into lockdown on Sunday night, so fingers crossed for a successful hatch

Mandy you can use surgical tape along the tear or even dripped candle wax...i'm praying over that one....You know we forgot to get you some hatching eggs....So when you are ready after this hatch, let me know...Praying for that cracked egg...I know you were sweet to that child....Be well and have a great day!!!! It's a wonderful day for Our Bunny Daze over here at The Garry Farm from 2 to 4:00 pm selling baby unnies, chicks and veggies!!! Love it! Weather to hit 70 degrees this afternoon!

Hey! I posted this to another thread, but I think you guys might give me a quicker answer!

My eggs are due to hatch on 3/22. I was going to have some new eggs coming to us at that time, but they shipped early!! They will be here towards the end of next week, and I don't want them to sit around for too long waiting for the others to hatch! I only have one incubator, so I need help!!!!

Is it possible for me to put the new eggs in when the other batch is on day 16/17?? When I take the turner out, can I hand turn the new guys for a few days , remove the chicks when they're ready, then put the turner back in?? I know it's not ideal, but I need to know what can work. Ugh!

On a positive note, every egg I've candled so far has a wiggle little chick inside!!! YAY!!!

Okay here's the deal...Can you beg the seller to delay the eggs shipping.. That would be my first effort. You can hand turn the new ones for a few days....Surgical scrub first. The problem will be that the chicks might start "drowning" during the hatch due to the high humidity, but it might work...

Any friends near by with an incubator????? I don't have any space or I'd be willing to help!!!

Hope this helps!

She shipped today! They are going to arrive Monday. NOT the plan...

I'll quickly hand turn them while the others are in lock down... Do you think the 3 days of higher humidity will be a big problem???
