I have chicks hatching.. they will be considered citizens of Georgia.. lol.. I have to head to work so hoping all my neighbors will pray for a trouble free hatch.. two zips so far.. one more pipping.. 7 eggs in this group..
I have been happy. 7 of the eggs made it to lockdown.. I can't remember if I got 12 or 14.. mercy at the eggs coming and going..
two eggs were not fertile.. and they had a rough ride to my house (shipped eggs) so I was happy at the lockdown percentage. out of those 7..I have 5 beautiful Black Australorps (probably spelled incorrectly). One pipped but died in the shell..
and no signs of hatching from the last holdout.
I keep hoping
but feel very blessed to have 5 healthy new additions to our flock.
Tomorrow brings another hatch day with 30+ eggs that looked good at lockdown.

Shelly, all things considering with shipping, that was a good percentage. Let me know if you want to just pick up the BCM, that will probably be better than shipping!

OOPS Forgot to mention we have lots of weekly hatches and we have many chicks, bunnies and NOW ducklings for sale!
You have a mind like phenomenal...Wow I felt like I was just in a chat group with the little phone lady from laugh in plugging into all the discussions!!! Yes Ducks can be a sloppy mess...REMEMBER IMPORTANT ::::: Your waterer once they are around 1 week old needs to be deep enough so they can dip their bills in it up to their nostrils or they'll have rtespieratory problems. Use a milk garton and cut big enough holes for their head but not their boddies! and put in water...My friend that hatched some of our eggs made the mistake of making the whole too big and a duck got water and swam in but luckily it swam out a hole on the other side???
So Nicole how many ducklings hatched for you???
And congrats on the grass fed beef, I know you're going to be swamped with orders...if I didn't just have 1000 pounds of beef in the freezer, I'll be pounding on your door.
Good night all, farmer Nancy and hubby birthed a baby goat and I'm so tired! but a great day!
Nancy.. I would like to pick up the BCM's along with my Speckled Sussex.. and anything else I might find..
if that is good for you. I hate the thoughts of them being at the mercy of the mailperson if they do not have to be. I just got in some Silver Laced Wyndotte eggs that will go in the bator tomorrow... I am in love with Wyndottes and Orpingtons.. who am I kidding.. I love any LF bird.. has to look like a traditional chicken though
.. no a fluffy chicken gal unless they are newly hatched.
My new "Meyers Five" are in their brooder.. this is the first group of chicks that hasn't huddled all together when first put in the brooder. I have two mini-sub flocks of 3 chicks and 2 chicks..lol
I am heading to bed. Was a restless night for me last night so I am praying for a settled mind and a peaceful rest.
