Anyone near or around north Georgia? I live right outside Rome. I'd love to have someone to discuss chickens and our bipolar weather we have here. I feel like I am totally new to havng chickens, but I've had them since spring, but I did not have a hard time when it was warmer.
 
I am in NE GA, Gainesville to be specific.

I use a feed from my local feed supply. Game bird starter at 24% protein and what they call "Cracked Rooster" at 16% protein " I think". Non Medicated for both. About $14 per 50LB bag. I have tried Purina and a few others but my chickens seem to like this feed the best.

I do not know as of yet--I need the pen they are in. There are 2, 15 weekold, dirty buffs(dark tipping), one that I think is a cockerel due to the shinny coloration he is getting but I really do not know for sure, plus, a splash and a very light cuckoo that are 7 weeks old. Oh, and I do have a white roo/cockerel that is about 20 weeks. All are free because I need the hutch and would like to rehome the soon.

Are you looking for all to go together? I do already have alot of boys though. I need to think and hopefully I can get some of the renovations I want to do on the barn done this weekend. Let me know if you want all to go together and how they would do with other roos.

They do not need to go together but it would be nice. As far as other roos go there would be the pecking order thing and you would have to watch them. If your pen is big enough that they can get away from each other it should not be a problem but if your pen is small you will have to watch them. Putting them in a pen where they are seperated but can see each other would help for a day or so--and there are other method we can talk about if you really are interested. Let me know.

Thanks! I will see how far I get things done by the weekend. They have lots of room. They have the entire barn for them and 1 1/2 fenced acre. I just need to get some more perches up and maybe some more hiding spots and the barn will be good. I am still debating whether to divide the barn up into separate areas right now but all seem to get along well at this point. Yes, I know not to just through them right in there.
