YO GEORGIANS! :)

Cinderga, Add me to the GA list. I can't seem to post in the right place from my phone.
ChickSter99 I don't think I can add anyone as I'm not the one who started it but...maybe someone on here knows how to do that. BUT...Welcome ChickSter99

GEORGIANS!!!

Where did you get river sand from?
ChickSter99 did I answer this question for you??? I'm sorry if I didn't. I got my sand from a gentleman in Conyers for $40 a truck bed full. It is working out wonderfully! I just take a small rake and rake it to the edge of the coop and then scoop it out. It stays so nice and clean and it doesn't ever smell. I won't go back to shavings for the floors again. I do use the pine shavings for their boxes though along with some DE and fresh Cinnamon Basil or Lemon Basil to make is smell fresh

I have been gathering grass clippings from when we mow. I put that down in the run. So far, I've had good luck with that. I rack it out every time we mow & replace it with the new clippings. I also add DE to the clippings. It is a problem when it rains though. I think I may be able to check into some sand in Hawkinsville. I think there's a big sand pit there.
