Yogurt for Chicks - Pasty Butt

I have 3 chicks that seem to get pasty butt, I clean it off, but they still get it.

If I give them yogurt, do they need additional grit or just what is in the Chick Starter feed?

I have put olive oil on them after they have been cleaned, but that doesn't seem to help.

You can mix some of the starter crumbles with yogurt. There is plenty of grit in the commercial feed so you don't need extra.

You can try a little vaseline on the butts. It seems to last longer and do better than just oil.

I think I will try the vaseline today, I've already olive oiled them twice!

I'll mix up some yogurt with their feed today, hopefully that will help.
