Yolk not fully absorbed?

It really is a rollercoaster...every time! You'll have to help me through my hatch on Tuesday/Wednesday. ;)
Lol done! It seems like baby #1 is investigating the other eggs. She’s lightly pecking them. Almost like she’s trying to help but isn’t really doing anything. That’s so much better than when she first hatched!

First one is the abdomen not fully closed, should close up fine.
Second probably the same thing but worse, it may be fine or not. :fl
So far they’re doing ok. #3 hatched about an hour ago. She had a little of the yolk not absorbed but she was on her feet and cheeping away in less than five minutes. So it looks like they’re good. They’ve all been moving around and being social with each other so that’s a relief!

I wanted to ask how your chicks are. I had one of my 5 push part of its absorbed yolk back out when it was dragging a bit of egg still attached to umbilical. It got worse with it peeping and upset it was by itself in the bator but I had to take out its siblings because they were pecking at it and were 6-12 hours older.

My chick is pretty far off from absorbing it after 4 hours. It’s the size of an after dinner mint.

Please tell me yours all made it. 😬

That actually just happened with our 6th one not even fifteen minutes ago. I still have one egg pipping but the first five really went after #6 so we decided to go ahead and quickly open it and get the first five. It was only maybe 20 seconds so hopefully #6 doesn’t get too cold and #7’s membrane doesn’t dry out. I think it’s fine though because the humidity went right back where it was. 3 out of the first five had slightly unabsorbed yolks of varying sizes up to maybe a dime. They all seem to be doing very well. They’ve all pooped and found food in their brooder. Since it’s been about 24 hours since the first 2 hatched their yolks seem to mostly be absorbed. Try not to stress out! I thought mine were going to bleed to death and they’re fine so far. If you look at my previous pictures my second one looked BAD. Here’s what they look like 24 hours later!

I culled mine. It was in really bad shape with more and more coming out with it getting more vocal and active. Eventually it opened up the sac and yolk was running out, which is sticky and it got stuck in it. Just awful. Chick was very active and wanted to live. Such a shame these things happen and it was my first loss.

That's a tough one....BTDT...sometimes things just do not go well.

Oh I’m so sorry! I’ve only had to put one hen down myself and it was awful. I cried for days. I don’t think that part will ever get easier. I’m so sorry you had to go through that!!
