Yolk on outside of egg.

Had a chicken lay an egg that appeared to have yolk on the outside. Very streaky yellow on egg. I do not see any sign of egg eating. All are accounted for except one broody hen and one that has not laid an egg in about two weeks.

I would think that an egg accidently broke in the nest. Then they will eat it shell and all! Did you feel around the nest to see if it feels wet?Doesn't meen they are egg eaters.But that could incourage that behavior.Checking eggs often and plenty of nesting material helps.
