Yolk sac?????

That is not true! Quail have tiny reserves and need to be moved to brooder once fluffy. Trust the breeder

Please don't be upset, I wasn't trying to question you. I just didn't want to take a chance on any jumping out and getting hurt. I will move them and be very careful....

I appologize, I just have experienced dissapointment with leaving quail for 12+ hours in the bator. Lots of it. Just don't want others too as well. Chickens are fat when they hatch

they can wait. Lol

No problem

When I just went and looked, number five is in the process of hatching. So, just as soon as he is out, I will move the two.

Okay, so I just moved two into the brooder..... whew!

Pretty soon I will move the other two. I am hoping that the humidity is high enough, since number 5 isn't out yet.

The two in the brooder aren't moving around much. But the bossy one (first that hatched) did get on the food dish and peck around a bit. Should I dip their beaks in the water? They are soooo tiny to handle!!!

And I hope that the second one that hatched is going to make it. I still have him in the incubator because he is taking forever to dry off, and isn't as lively as the others. In a little while I will move him and the other one to the brooder.

Yay!!! Bossy found the water, just watched her take quite a few sips. Now hopefully the other one will do the same. And number five is out

Sorry to keep posting, but this is my first time hatching quail and my husband is at work so I am home alone with no one to share it with!

Everyone else is doing great though

Yes, he looked exactly like that! And out of all five we have so far, he is the only one that I have my doubts about. He is much smaller than the rest, and even though I know he is dried off, his feathers aren't fluffed out. They all seem to sleep a lot. I have given some of them water drops with a small pipette I had for feeding baby birds, since I wasn't sure those had been drinking on their own. I see a couple of eggs moving in the bator, but nothing else has hatched yet.... gonna be a long afternoon, evening....
