Hey everyone! Question....last night I had a chick hatch and still had a pea sized about of yolk sac on it belly. Well I came back about 30 minutes later and the sac had grown. I ended up cutting a portion of it off because there was tugging. This morning I noticed the remaining stuff was dry but when the chick gets excited new stuff falls out. Should I wrap a band aid around this chick or am I making it suffer?

I am not sure what you are cutting...I would be very careful cutting anything at this point... can you upload a pic?

No surgical intervention on newborns! Doing anything other than providing a safe, clean area for the hatchling to close up and heal is often a death sentence.

Please post a photo or two.

xs 2, never cut open or tug on anything attatched to a chick unless you have vet training. Personally the only thing I would ever consider cutting is the cord and that is only after tying it off.
