Is one of these babies a girl and the other a boy? Is the one with the puffier head more desirable or do they develop into about the same top knot?

Buy me a rain-proof coop that will last through endless days of rain, a run that is completely shut off of rain, but not sun. . . As it is rare enough already . . . And sure, I could have a Silkie. But otherwise, that saying should be edited to "Everyone who is capable of owning a Silkie should atleast own one."

I'm not looking foreward to owning a tiny splat of mud.

You don't need a rain-proof coop... Why would you?!?
My silkies stay out in the rain all day and when I go out there they look like drowned rats LOL!!!

They are perfectly fine in the rain. I let them free-range in the rain.

ChickenSal - That is what I'm talking about. One is vaulted and one is not. There is no way to tell on these two chicks if one is a rooster or hen. You can't even tell if one is going to have a larger puff ball or not.
I tell you what though. I bet my shoes on it that both of these chicks will be Doll Babies. Just look at them.

Ya this is what your looking for.

Thank you! The feed store had some buff silkies and had separated this one that had a huge puffy head, they said it was a male because of the poofy head.

Could you by chance tell me how to find the breeders in PA. I live in South Central PA but would be willing to drive a distance to get my hands on some of these extra fluffy fuzzy butts. Thanks!
