"You better be careful selling farm eggs, 'they' may get you!!!!!"

Anyone know the laws in SC ?? I sell my eggs to my coworkers . I rinse them off under hot water , dry and put the collection date on the cartons and keep them refrigerated untill I sell them . Which doesn't take long at all
Looked but no luck yet. I dont have the time to read all of SC law so here is the link if you want to see what you find. http://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/title47.php

In El Dorado County, California, the egg sales laws can be fairly lenient - at least for the "backyard flock" folks. We are exempt from "egg handler" regulations imposed on big producers if our flocks are comprised of less than 500 laying hens and we sell only from our property (owned, rented or leased), not in farmers markets or to retail establishments. Just pay an annual 15 buck fee to the County (so they know who and where you are). There are restrictions to the size of signs depending on zoning; for example, non-commercial areas with residential housing can't have huge signs and they must not be illuminated. I am not aware of much policing of small, non-compliant egg sales practices. Signage IS something which coukd get somebody in trouble if they have neighbors or Nosy Parkers who look for such things because they just don't like the idea of anybody "getting away with anything they shouldn't." Nor do I know how folks around here handle egg sales at Farmers Markets. I don't have enough volume to get involved in 'em.
