My young hook bills being herded by me all around the driveway and parking area. They maintained a nice tight 'formation' as you can see. The last pic is after I 'released' them. They are at the gangly ugly stage right now and I really look forward to them maturing!

hehe i love my ducks for that, they've taught my other birds (even my pigeons) that when i come up at almost dark and say "Go" that htey all haul tail into the barn for the night

That is one of my favorite things about ducks! They stay together in a tight little unit. Chickens? Forget it, they scatter and run in opposite directions. I just tried to get one silly chook to stop standing in the pouring rain by trying to herd her under cover, but she wanted none of it, just ran away from me

Totally cute. My Khakis do that, too. I originally had 10 of the that batch, and they maintained a tight formation, but it shifted around. Now there are 9, and they're almost military: three ranks of three, marching in a little rectangle.

I sit in my wheelbarrow and use my 15 foot long bamboo pole for herding. Everyone calls me the "duck wrangler" lol
