Okay, I've posted her pics on here two other times, but now she's got almost all her feathers in... I'm still hoping she's an EE....The guy at the feed store suggested Welsummer, since she didn't have muffs as a chick, but she has green legs. Can anyone tell me if my hopes are right??? Thanks!!!!

P.S. I hope everyone can see the pics, I just set my photobucket account to private. I guess we'll see!!!

Honestly, she's so cute I really don't care if she's not an EE, but I've still got my fingers crossed!!!

LOL!!! Any other ideas??? Anyone got any links for adult EE pics??? I'm kinda curious to see what she'll grow into when she gets older...thanks everyone!!!

P.S. I found this pic on a yahoo image search, and I think she may end up looking like the one on the far left....problem is mine doesn't have muffs....do they grow those in later??? Or are there 'muffless' araucanas???

EEs are cross-breeds (aka "mutts") so they have widely varying characteristics. Some do not have muffs. some have single combs. Stuff like that.

A true araucana is "rumpless" (no tail) and has ear muffs.

True Ameraucanas must have muffs and beards and only show specific coloring.

I don't know if any other breeds have green legs or not. If not, my guess is she's an EE mix.. she is very pretty!!!

Thanks, I think she's gorgeous, too.....I have two more Araucanas that do have muffs, those came to my feed store as the specific breed. This one in the pic came in a box marked 'rainbow layers' I really hope she'll lay green, blue, or pink eggs cause I've never seen one and I think it would be awesome!!!

A true araucana does not have ear muffs - they have tufts. Two entirely different features.

An ameraucana has muffs and a beard.

The tuft and muff/beard genes are different and do not look the same either. They are often used interchangably incorrectly. Just thought I would clarify that so there's no confusion.

The EE chick is very pretty. I hope she lays a beautiful colored egg for you.
