The Speckled Sussex I asked about a couple weeks ago started to crow today, so 1 point to the BYC folks! Can you help me with the other SS, and some EE's? The EE might be too young, not sure. Any help is VERY much appreciated.

To me, the first EE looks like a cockeral but the second one looks like a pullet. Cute chicks!

UGH, I'm sad about the SS. I bought 2 and had hoped one would be a girl. The one started crowing today, and what a pitiful sound it is! They're so pretty, but the only place for a roo here is in the fridge. I guess that's life buying out of a straight run bin!

I agree with the other posts - EE roo, pullet and SS roo. At least the SS will be a nice size for the frig and they tend to be a nicer rooster.

How old should those two be before they go on their great journey to the fridge? They're either 8 or 9 weeks old now.

How old are they? I have 2 babies (not even a week old) and I'm curious as to what they'll look like as they grow. Our other silkie we got as an adult.

They are just over three weeks old. It's been hot as an oven here, so I let them out in the "ghetto tractor" for the day and they loved it! They are so cute, I love their poofy bottoms. I am sure they're horrendous quality, but they'll just be pets and possibly one of them will be a therapy animal, assuming one has the personality for it.
