You know you are getting old when:

I remember when - we had to walk to school a mile each way through a foot of snow and freezing temps, all bundled up and wearing the pull on over your shoes galoshes, carrying our lunch pails and books and we never complained about any of it. No such thing as school buses back then, not where I grew up. Everyone walked.

You know that you are getting older when it can be as hard to walk downhill as it is up hill.

When you're walking on a slippery surface, downhill is more scary.
I learned the hard way you don't walk on a flat surface especially if it is iced over cement with your hands in your pockets no matter how cold it is.

Unless you want to end up on those "funniest videos" compilations.

I actually quit watching them. They got unfunny after I realized how the "nobody got hurt" was a lie.

I leaned my lesson long before there were digital video cameras and smart phone cameras. Still not going back and try again to see if anyone is watching.
