you know your kids are addicted when......they are away from home and ask to 'talk' to their chicken on the phone! This happened this weekend when my 6 yr old visited Grandma - when i called she asked me to put the phone up to her chicken so they could hear each other.
But, i dont know who is MORE addicted...this three week old Silkie likes to snuggle and rolls over ON HER OWN to have her belly rubbed!
my kids want to clean up the chicken pooop with a shovel!!because they see mom do it!!! and i say no.. ( i have 2 small kids) and i say no momma does it.
my daughter go's and grabs the shovel again, and i say no... and then she cries! oh to have kids and chickens!
I don't have any funny ones but I know my kids are addicted to chickens when we go to the county fair and have to go to the chicken barn first so my son can make his WISH LIST so I can buy more eggs to hatch out for him. Also when my daughter insists going out to the barn everyday so she can sing them a song that way they have a good day.OOeee! lol
My nephew came down for Thanksgiving and loved the hens so much, he named one Susan and held her every chance he got. He did get a little picked on- "I don't think Susan would like that" or "Do you want to marry Susan" and he'd turn beet red with a grin. He was definitely in love. On his defence, Susan is a very sweet hen.
