You find an egg of unknown age in the run and toss it over the 6 foot fence to the dog, the egg doesn't break on impact but just bounces a bit. The spoiled dog waits for you to come break the egg for him.....you pick it up and throw it to the ground--again, it just bounces! Tap it a bit with the toe of your boot, no breakage. Finally stomp it and it breaks, shooting egg all over the place....dog isn't happy with that.

When have you had super strong egg shells?

I really notice how hard the shells are when I have to buy eggs from the grocery store. We kept a huge flock for years and never had to buy eggs. Then we downsized to save a little money and finally hit a point where we ran out completely. I wasn't happy when I had to pick up eggs at the store. I was even less happy when I whacked one off the counter the same way I would my own.

You can probably guess what happened!
