On the left, chicken soup (soup with chicken in it for people to eat)
On the right, "chicken soup" (meat and veggie scraps, including the carrot peels from the making of the chicken soup, FOR the chickens).

You know you're a backyard chicken owner when you hear your chickens squawk and immediately run outside to protect your babies.
Or when you hear your not so quiet neighbors laughing at you for running around your yard waving a stick and shouting at the hawks overhead.

Something like that happened to me once. All of the chickens (& duck) were screaming, so I launched out as fast as I could to go sit with them & the neighbors started laughing at me because instantly I was covered in chickens, on my back, lap, arms, next to me
