You May Call Us Rodents or Vermin, But You Dont Know Us Yet - The RP(Role Play)

Charlotte ran back across the metal fence, she jumped down onto the concrete path. She ran down the path, carefully checking each alleyway they passed. They came upon a dark, dirty alleyway that smelt of death and rotting food. Charlotte scrunched up her whiskered face as she walked closer to a large pile of rubbish and trash.

Lena followed Charlotte over to the pile of rubbish and trash. She too twitched her nose at the stench.

"Hm, he should be here somewhere..." Charlotte said. She glanced at Lena.
---
Driew poked his head out of the pile of trash. He looked down at the two squirrels that had ventured into the alleyway and grinned. Driew jumped back into the trash and burrowed down until he reached the bottom of the heap, then he popped out of the pile. He stood on his hind legs and stared at the squirrels. "What do you two want?" He asked Lena.

Lena first looked dumbfounded at the rat. But then recovered soon enough. "Well, we..wanted to ask you something about a kite." Lena looked at Charlotte for verification. Then continued, "on whether we should help free it or not from the small humans." She finished uncertainly.

"A kite you say?" Driew said, looking at the grey squirrel. "Yeah, I've heard o' that. It don't need freeing, it's a human toy." He sniffed a small piece of rotten fruit, then he picked it up and ate it.

Lena looked around cautiously then ventured to ask, "What does this word 'toy' mean, is it a form of human pet?" She sat up on her hunches, in order to talk to him better.

Driew smirked. "A pet? Nah, it's just somethin' they play with. It's not alive or nothin'," he told the squirrels. He hunched over and scratched behind his ear, then he looked up at Charlotte.

Charlotte stared at Driew, slightly disgusted by the smells that surrounded them. She glanced at Lena. "So, the kite that the little humans possess is just a plaything? Interesting.." Charlotte said.

Lena nodded absently. "Well, I feel a little silly, thinking something is alive and it's not. Thank you...um, I didn't think to ask your name." She said nicely.

"Ha, you're not the only ones who wanted to know what it was. I had a couple of mice 'ere a few days ago." Driew said, chuckling to himself. "By the way, the name's Driew." He bowed his head and grinned.

Charlotte looked out of the alleyway entrance, she stared at the kite. "What an interesting contraption," She mumbled.

Lena smiled at Drew and bowed her head as well. "Thank goodness you helped us, we were about to make utter fools of ourselves. My name is Lena and I assume, you already know Charlotte." She said.
