If you have a hard time not telling everybody who will listen how many of your chickens' eggs have hatched in the kindergarten class's incubator (so far!) and can't wait to go home and tell the only ones who won't look at you funny (you decide if I mean the chickens or my roomies who tend them with me!)

Or if you are tempted to take some of said hatched chicks who turned out to be the offspring of your favorite rooster even with 50 new chicks already on the way.

If you get home to discover the back door to your sewing room/studio has blown open and find no less than 5 piles of poo on the floor. Instead of getting angry, you just wonder who came in to visit and were they disappointed you weren't there?

i havent read all the posts yet, but today at work(i deliver auto parts) i realized that i am addicted to chickens because every little shed, play house or anything that looks like you could turn into a coop I say"that would make a great coop" or even if me and hubby are out for a ride, i look for things that could make a cute or nice coop..it has been happening forever lol and i always try to think how many chickens i could put in it

the first day i had my chickens in the coop, i was afraid they wouldnt go in at night so i squeezed through the chicken door(mind you all covered in pooo)to put all the chickens in the coop...I barely fit through the chicken door..

...if everywhere you go with your 'chicken purse' people ask if you have chickens + and 'surprise' so do they and all of sudden you find out you aren't the only crazy chicken lady around after all...like when I took my cell phone into the AT&T store and the woman told me she and her Mom raise silkies...and the best are the older people who get kinda teary eyed telling about their childhood memories of the farm and chickens.
