You might be a crazy chicken lady/gent if...Go on, post yours!

How about if you bring your injured chick into the house (all theothers are in the brooder out by the coop and with momma) and set up a special tub for her - and then end up holding her in your hands all night so she can sleep - but then you can't sleep cause you have 2 cats and a dog that are waaaaaaaaaaaay to interested in that chicki?

If you are seriously considering buying a $500 dog kennel you just saw at costco because with a small coop added it would make a perfect breeding pen.
I mean really perfect! Sturdy wire walls painted black, human sized door, 7' tall on the sides, probly 8' at the peak, tarp roof, looked about 12' square... and it isn't a bad price for what it is. All it needs is a little coop atatched and it would be done.

You might be a crazy chicken lady if you add 'ie' to the ends of all your chickens' names! My Cochin barred rooster gives me a special "chook chook chook" when ever I cuddle him and call him my Sootsy wootsy.

Go out each evening to let a hen jump up on to your arm to carry her to the hen house to be put to bed. No seriously this hen expects this treatment every night if I don't she just stands outside on the porch going in circles until I go outside and let her jump up on my arm. During the day she wants nothing to do with me.

how about if you spend 20 minutes setting up a play list on your phone that you can play while doing your chores in the coop in the morning - picking songs that you think your chicks will like.... so far they really like country lol

You run out of leaves to put in your run for bedding...so you ninja the neighbors yard waste they've set out by the curb before the trash men come by.

Here are some things, I'm told, that make me a crazy chicken chick!

1) you spend your conference period at your teaching job, not grading, but reading this loooooong thread.

2) you lose sleep at night because you're too busy to be bothered, because you're reading this thread!

3) you've shown pictures of your chickens & coop/run and first egg to anyone you could...students, other teachers...strangers

4) all your facebook posts are about chickens.

5) you get crazy rashes and zillions of chigger bites picking dewberries for the chickens in your backyard.

6) you sing songs about chicken poop in the coop, while you happily clean chicken poo (my god, it amazes me HOW much three chickens can poop in one night, you would think there's a large dog that sneaks in there and poops or something) and "chickens on a roost not a roast"

7) you told your parents, family, and friends that all you wanted for Christmas was a chicken run!

8) everybody's tired of you talking about chickens!

9) everyday you think... what new yummy treat can I feed my chickens next? I love learning about what they like and don't like! And I love how chatty they get when they see me coming!

LOL I hear ya but not for my chickens YET hehehe they are too little and still in basement in the brooder, but I will go out for them too like I do for my horses and outside dog.
I stand inside my barn with them when its storming because I don't want them to get scared............. I just can't help it. LOL I once stayed out in 75 MPH winds thunderstorming like crazy to be with the critters when I should have been in my basement, a tornado went through 2 miles from us. Hubby and kids think I'm Insane.............. and that I care more about my critters than myself, I do believe they are right!!
