My husband sends me emails asking if I've taken any more pictures of the chickens or he'll send me an email with pictures he's taken. He always puts "chick pics" in the subject line. Now if you didn't have chickens and you saw emails from your husband titled "chick pics" what would you think?

I'm about a decade too young to have a husband,if not more.I still don't get it.

I might be, since I sing to my chickens, starting from when they were in the eggs so they'd recognize my voice, in the brooder & on. When ever they are upset & thinking about freaking out or are freaking out (like during both of the walnut size hail storms in the same week) I just sing to them & they calm down. At night it goes like this in the "Good Night Ladies" tune: "Good night chickies, good night chickies, good night chickies, it's time to go to bed." In the morning when I let them out it's - "Good morning to you, good morning to you, good morning dear chickies, good morning to you." Come on, just try it; singing makes you happier. I just like to sing & I know some of you out there have some songs to share; I hope!!!!!

Sav the Favs: I sing "Goodnight Ladies" to my chickens too! The other two verses are "Farewell Ladies" and "Sweet Dream Ladies".

Check out "Goodnight Ladies/Pick a Little Talk a Little" from "The Music Man". It's on YouTube:

There are actually chickens in that scene! And the ladies gossiping in the feather hats look & sound like chickens!

Yes, singing is good for the soul - especially if it makes you appear to be a CCL, and you don't really care!
