Right... So i join this forum a while back just looking for helpful information to get off on the right foot managing a small flock of just a few chickens and what do I get? A freaking addiction that has all ready turned my small flock into a novelty backyard flock of Easter Eggers (once my 5 y.o. found out chickens could lay 'easter eggs'), the probably addition of some silkies because guess what? Chickens aren't 'just for eggs,' but can be pets too.... I've upgraded my coop twice all ready in less than a year (from a little a-frame tractor, to a small coop w/ attached run, to a larger coop)... but I just can't leave the coop and run empty? (silkies).... and since I'm adding more chickens anyway... why not add just a couple more, right? right?!? (I think I want a few Seramas)

And now, I sometimes visit the turkey (and other bird) sub-forums....

Stupid chickens. ;)

Chicken math cure anyone?

Hey, hey, wait just a minute here. Don't you call me an enabler! I have never enabled in my life!

More like "aided and abetted." Silkies are awfully cute, you know - chickens with fur! And Seramas? My daughter and I love her little "chicken soldiers;" they are such friendly little things, too.

Have you seen the Call Ducks? Aren't they just adorable?

Some of the turkey colors are really beautiful, and they have such interesting personalities ---------- Some pigeons are just pretty to look at, but others are active performers that can intrigue you for hours --------And as for guinea fowl

Uhmm, don't you mean "WE people"? :p

You may want to do a board search on "Chicken Math" because buddy you've got it!

Has your five year old ever seen eggs in the process of hatching? Incubating your own is a sure kid magnet...

Hi Bowen, I feel for you big time! I only wanted a few chickens for eggs and a few to have in the freezer. Now I have nearly 40 and I did get the turkeys! We are building chicken runs and turkey pens all over a 3 acre section of our pasture! lol But My DH said NO MORE CHICKENS!!! I said ok for this year, but next year we will have to get more! lol
