This is my 3 week old Barred Rock! Originally we named him Cluckagawea, but now I think we should change it to Lewis N. Cluck. Do you agree? Have I got a little cockerel? Thanks all

Thank you! That’s what I was thinking. Got him from a TSC pullet bin so I was surprised!

It happens. These are vent sexed and they get it wrong about 10% of the time on average.

Mine is a week older but you can see how much difference there is in the barring (typical hatchery quality, female barring is a mess) and how her comb is still yellow.

Definitely! I have 3 other and the difference in barring was what first tipped me off. Then when his comb already started growing and pinking up and his sisters' were still small and yellow I was like "oh man I picked up the only cockerel from that bin, didn't I"
