You know it's a chick!
Hens can leave the nest during the day, and return to it at night, and the eggs could do okay. Especially if its warm out. Is this something your girls could do? Run out for treats and attention when they hear you, but set on a hidden egg the rest of the time?
I wouldn't take it to the rehab. You are confident its a chick, you have hens and a roo, therefor you have viable eggs. I think this was an early Mother's Day present but the cat got to it first.

I only have 4 hens and I gather eggs everyday. I am sure no one has been sitting. But I have alot to learn still. One thing I can think of is I have a fiberglass truck cap in the yard with both ends open and I have raked a busted bale of straw in there to keep it dry. Is it possible that there was enough heat generated for this egg to hatch on its own? I'm seriously a bit freaked out by the possibility and did some investigating under there last nite to see if I could find any egg shell remnants or other eggs. Am going out to look again.
