young chickens dying in coop

I would suspect coccidia, before thinking they are milling each other. Do you see wounds on any of the remaining chicks?

Can you describe the extensive damage?

By the time I saw this one it was missing most of it's skin. I've seen a few missing feathers but that's about it. I was planning on doing a more investigation today after work and try to sex them and separate the males.

What is coccidia?

So I checked out my chickens last night and they don't look sick. Their coop is high off the ground and the bottom is expanded metal, they have plenty of roosts and several laying nests.

Roosters then??

You keep referring to roosters - when I asked yesterday you noted the only other birds were the adult hens. Just to be absolutely clear, the "roosters" you are referring to are the cockerel chicks the same age as those you are losing or are there adult roosters in this flock that you introduced the chicks into?

When you say they don't "look sick" - did you do some reading on coccidiosis yesterday after enola made mention of it? If you aren't familiar with the illness and the wide range of symptoms you can see with it you would have difficulty recognizing some of the more nuanced presentations it can have.

How many chicks are there? If allowed to pile in large numbers they can suffocate then they pile up to sleep.

Yes I did research. Yes rooster(s) are the same age. I looked closer and it looks like some of them are pale around the eyes. This is my first time having any problems. I am going to treat with cordid to make sure
