I got a few chicks yesterday, the breeds don't matter for this question.

Pineapple bloodied up Q-Tip and Chaps' butts. How survivable is this injury? Q-Tip and Chaps are in a separate brooder now and it seems Pineapple is leaving the other chicks in her brooder alone.

Chicks are so gangsta.

Oh it was the chick that did it. At first i thought they came like that. I would try to clean the wound and stop the bleeding.

They don't seem to be actively bleeding I have them on a dog potty pad and there are not any blood spots.
All the chicks were fine yesterday when we got them.

Do you just have three chicks?
No. There are 7 total that we picked up yesterday.
Then I have 6 in the 2 week old brooder. With 25 guinea keets.
A couple 6 week olds in the transition brooder.
And then all of the adults. Lol. What can I say, chicken math.

Just two were injured and it looks like Pineapple was the main instigator.

Cahos and Q-Tip survived the night :). I hope the survivability it good for them.

give pineapple away and keep Cakeface.
Personally I would not be able to forgive Pineapple. I've never had a chick do this but who knows what he will do once he's bigger and stronger. I'd get rid of Pineapple for good. I know people say chicks are not ugly but Pineapple is. He's got a dolphin head and is as aggressive as a shark 😬

Both Pineapple and Cakeface (both the same breed, Buff Laced Polish) were more on the aggressive side, but I think they may have been traumatized. A snake had gotten into the chick barn at my feed store and they said it looked like he had tried the chicks, but their bins were too secure. As of this morning, there was no more butt eating.
If Pineapple does keep being a bully, she will get moved in with the 2 week old chicks. She has a home here. Cakeface is going to my brother who has a much smaller flock than I do, so I am glad she is not as violent. Chicks/chickens are vicious and will peck at anything that looks different. My best guess is that Q-Tip and Chaps had the beginning of poopy butt and that is what enticed Pineapple to peck, and peck, and peck.

I just hope that Q-Tip and Chaps are able to make a full recovery.

Buff Laced Polish (not my pic), this is what both Pineapple and Cakeface will grow to look like.
