After a hen molts does it not lay the same?

They lay fine after the molt, it's during that they don't lay. After 2 years, egg production generally starts to decline though.

That is really interesting regarding the food switch... I actually did switch feed about that time. From one soy-free and no gmo feed to another.... they should both be comparable. I have been wondering if my new one is not quite as good. It is $22 for 50 lbs so it better be quality! I may just switch back and see what happens. Really good info. Thank you.

I have a similar problem: I have 3 hens about 1 year old - 2 are laying - they all make that loud squawking noise when they lay an egg - but one ISN'T laying; she just makes noise as if she does. They are in an enclosed coop - so it's not like she is hiding them anywhere.
