Hello backyard Community I hope I can find some answers to my concerns of my young hen. Four days ago she could not walk at all she acted like she was completely paralyzed she would try and she would just fall over frontwards sideways, she is eating fine drinking I started giving her a vitamin B liquid daily multiple times a day. And yesterday she stood up and ran across the yard perfectly and she is now walking around with the other hens that are all free range but once she gets there she sits down and she still Falls quite a bit. But from the first day I found her like that she seems to have made quite a bit Improvement is this common with mareks? She doesn't really curl her toes or act like one leg is paralyzed compared to the other like I said she is using both of them.

Hi and welcome to BYC:frow We're happy that you've joined us, but so sad about your issue.:hugs

I'm sure one of our first aid folks will be by shortly. In the meantime, how old is she? What are you feeding her? What's her poop like? Any signs of worms?

For now, you might want to add some canned pink salmon to her diet, maybe a table spoon or so twice a day.

Thank you for your quick response she free ranges quite a bit around the yard and I feed them all layer mesh in the morning and a little bit in the evening, from what I know and have Googled her poop does look normal it's a little on the watery side. I've had her about a month and a half to two months now when I first got her I was told she was 3 months old

I might add that I was told that she would start laying within one month of me getting her she has yet to lay any eggs

Ok, while we wait for the first aid folks, I would suggest amping up her protein and vitamins as well as providing a pro-biotic. The salmon I suggested is high in both, Canned Tuna in oil is another good choice. Raw beef liver is right up there with salmon and yogurt is a good pro-biotic.
