For 4 days, I've been trying to help our 10 week old Delaware pullet. Unfortunately, it only eats and is refusing to drink the water I gave it. I put the sav-a-chick electrolyte & probiotic in the water.
I just got some more nutri-drench today so I will be trying to give it that.
I know trying to save a meat bird is a waste of time but my heart is always leading me when it comes to hurt animals.

I'm still not sure what could be wrong. The whole flock has been on Flock Raiser since I got the chicks so it can't be because of the feed. They always free ranged and only ate bugs and small pieces of the apples that dropped from the trees. And no, none ever ate the seeds. They seem to understand to avoid those.

I currently have the pullet on non-medicated chick starter and I have it in the separate coop we use for injured or sick birds as nobody except humans can get to it.

Is there anything I could possibly do to save it??

Feed it mash? That will get moisture into it. But if it isn't drinking at all, it would have died already, wouldn't it have? Weird...

You might be able to do fluids subcutaneously, I imagine. I've done that on my cat when he was really sick with infe tion. I just wouldn't know how to do it for a chicken.

I put something in the water bowl to measure the water but it hasn't moved past where I filled it.
I'll see about feeding mash.
Do you think the nutri-drench will at least perk it up a bit??

I'm a huuuuge fan of NutriDrench! I've seen it work miracles! I just wonder why it isn't drinking....
