This afternoon I noticed my almost year-and-a-half old rooster buddy, Gleam, is walking oddly. I don't remember him walking this way yesterday or the day before. Checked his feet—he had a bumble earlier this summer we took care of—and that's healed up, and the affected foot looks all clear to me.

Gleam is about eight or nine pounds and feels physically normal to me otherwise. Our other birds are all fine, and there didn't seem to be anything visibly wrong, or that I could feel, with his leg other than the funny walk. Gleam is eating, drinking, dancing and tidbitting for his girls, staring at his sire, giving shocked and hurt looks to me for picking him up in front of his girls, and acting like himself otherwise. I haven't given him anything yet but may start him on B vitamins tonight.

They're in a big coop with pine shavings as bedding. It is a bit of a hop down from the roost for the boys, as I have been waiting for my husband to build them a ladder.

My husband took some video for me (if you are seasick, maybe don't watch! ha! I'm typically the photographer around here) to share. Thank you!

I can almost certainly get better photos tomorrow if necessary, but as I said, nothing looked odd. (His father is a Black Copper Marans, so Gleam does have sort of almost-feathers on his legs, and that DOES look odd, but...)

Here are some photos of him. To me, his feet look fine but it is of course possible I have missed something.
