Young rooster not crowing but.......ehhemm....

i have an olive egger rooster whos about 4 or 5 months old im guessing and my little brother named him pink, we thought he was a hen til he mounted. heres a picture of him. I was wondering the same thing. he mounts all the hens but hasnt even attempted crowing. There is an older jersey giant roo who is my profile pic that puts him in his place when he mounts his hens though.

I have the opposite problem. My Ameraucana roo started crowing on Christmas day, but I haven't seen him show any other 'roo' traits. He seems to act like he's one of the hens.

I got a Hovabator for Christmas and this guy could be nice and cooperate so I could hatch some eggs. He is only 6-7 months old and so he is probably just slow like the EEs. Guess I have to be patient a little longer!

While most roos crow and act out their roohood on any pullet or hen nearby, they are not actually fully sexually mature until about a year. I wouldn't hold it against him...he'll do his duty when it's time.
