My big australorp roo Pecker is a gentleman but his two sons are not. I’m thinking of making one Chris-Chan because he is… “enamored” with his mother and she isn’t reciprocating those feelings. The other has targeted one of my RIR hens and refuses to even flirt with other hens and mates her until Pecker has to physically kick his butt. Now the poor thing won’t leave her hubby’s side. Should I cull them both?

Welcome to BYC.

How many males and females do you have? How much coop and run space do you have? Photos?

What is your goal for having multiple males?

"Teenage" cockerels are known for being hormonally-driven and getting over-aggressive with the ladies. Sometimes it's necessary to confine them separately until they settle down. Sometimes it's necessary get rid of them one way or another.

Sounds like Pecker isn't doing a great job keeping them in line.

My three males behave, but it's because my flockmaster will whoop the other two's butts if they look at his girls. By the time he's dismissed then as threats, they've calmed down their hormones and get by sneaking around with the less appreciated hens
