Eyeing the onion seeds I want to buy this year, trying to decide if I should grab anything else while I’m at it. Currently looking at lemongrass, I can never find it at my local places but wow it gets to be three feet tall?!!

It's normally time to be out tilling but that is going to be delayed until upwards of 6" of snow melts. I've never had snow here before. I am not sure how long it is going to be with temps the way they forecast to be.

Well, being from NC I don't usually say this but my garden in under snow.

I wanted to try to plant the green peas. Ha! That will wait a little longer. Usual planting date is early Feb.

We did get to cut a lot of the collards. The chickens are working on some and I have a pile in the kitchen to wash today. We left a few plants just to see what happens. It could be as low at 10F tonight.

12° is called for here tonight along now with more snow. Those weather guessers just aren't right in the head.

If it doesn't rain or snow for another week It looks like I will be able to plant peas so they will produce before the early hot spring days hit us.

I know we are in a place cannot not bet on the winter to be done.
Little to no rain this month is very unusual to us.

We did get down to 10f Wednesday night. I hope we don't see that again for a long time. Hopefully it killed a few bugs.

Almost all the snow has melted today. There is still a few tiny patches. It was pretty while it lasted but now I'm ready for it to go.

Looking forward to next week, could hit 65F. Plenty to do outside.

I really hope the 3 days of single digit temps killed off a bunch of baddies in the insect world.

Because we don't have a lot of snow on the ground (it's been missing us!), I hope the ground didn't freeze so deeply that it killed off the young fruit trees.

Same, I’m a little worried about the sage I planted last summer. This is its first winter and I don’t know how hardy it is. Just got to pray it survives and the multitude of pest bugs don’t!

I'm hoping the freezing ground and freezing temps killed off the ticks. They were so bad last year because the winter didn't get cold enough. And I hope my rhubarb survives
