Your 2025 Garden

Moved a Black Cherry tomato to the garden.

I think the green beans are going to be ok. The rain had really beat them down. I pruned out the damaged foliage and they have perked up some.

Tomorrow I will cut some cabbage for Sunday dinner.

Potato foliage is looking poor.
I think I will also dig a few potatoes.

I found a few of these.

Your cabbage is pretty!

My tomatoes are still green.

But my beans continue to produce.

I froze another 5 bags today, each bag had about 25 beans in it. The second sowing is beginning to blossom.
:yesss:

Picked my first Summer squash!

I did not freeze it...it was delicious!

I've decided to try growing some carrots in the thick stone pots that usually have flowers. I've read in a few places that the carrots do well because they like the deep fine soil.
The pansies that made me smile all winter are slowly succumbing to the heat. I'll probably transfer them to a border where they'll get morning sun and afternoon shade. I might be able to enjoy the pretties for a few more weeks.
I'm thinking of amending the soil in the pots with sand and coir for the carrots. Pot size is 18" across and 16" deep with relatively straight sides. I've got 2 pots and 2 types of carrots to try. It's almost like the garden fairies planned it to be so.

When I was putting in the cantaloupe melons last week I looked up what might make good companions. Lo-and-behold a few sites listed garlic amongst their suggestions. After @NanaK 's lovely inspirational photo, I decided to give it a go so I ran to the grocery and picked out 2 nice plump bulbs with about a dozen good size cloves between them. I don't know if they'll do anything being planted so late but I do love to experiment in my garden.
