Your 2026 Garden

You all are making me jealous. Pictures of trees and shrubs in bloom. Planting tender stuff outside. April 16 as a last frost date.:gig

Here, I harden tender stuff off the last week of May. No trees or shrubs are blooming yet. They will probably bloom in the next week in the warm spell, and then be killed in the sure-to-follow frost. Our last frost date is usually around mid-late May.

We do, however have daffodils in bloom by the hundreds. :):thumbsup
Hang in there! Just a few more weeks and you too will have your hands in the soil! Of course if you really can't wait, you can come down here. I can barely keep up with the weeds, and an extra pair of gardening hands is always good. Lol

Do you have an extra room? lol

I have 4 rhubarb plants, and all have growth showing! The "big" one and the one I planted last year have the most growth showing. The other two are much smaller by comparison.

That encouraged me to get out a jar of my rhubarb jam. Dang, I like that stuff!
"What do you put that on?"
"A spoon."
It's great on pancakes and french toast.

You must have some things in bloom, besides daffodils. We have those nasty Bradford pear trees blooming and they smell so bad

Here's a list of all the flowers I've seen outside recently.

Snowdrops (done and gone)
Winter Aconite (done and gone)
Siberian Squill
Myrtle
Violets
Hellebore
Daffodils of all types

Trees? No flowers or leaves out yet.
Bushes? Some have a few small leaves coming out, no flowers.

Starting Sunday, we will have 6 days in the 70s. I expect things to really pop. And it is a long way till we're past our last frost date. That can be anywhere from the first week of May to the last.

We have the same frost dates. But we've had trees blooming and getting leaves for a little bit now
