I have 3 pugs right now. Love them.

My brother has min pins. They were raised with the kids an are great with them. No one touches those kids if the dogs are in the room.

We currently have German Shepherds, I myself prefer Golden Retrievers. I used to have one back in the day, Great with kids, and this guy was so gentle, he found a baby bird out in the yard that had fallen out of a nest, he carefully picked it up, and brought it to me. In my experience, smaller dogs are more nervous around little kids....

Well then you wouldn't want any of my dogs. They are weimaraners. They are large breed and very active. We use ours for pheasant hunting.

The ultimate hyper dog! They make Jack Russels look like Prozac dogs.

I don't know about min pins.
Personally I like English Mastiffs but NOT a small breed.

We have a Shar Pei and he's a really nice dog but I would not recommend the breed for kids.

Golden retrievers chew..... a lot.

How about a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel? I always thought they seemed like nice dogs.

Or... a carefully selected mutt..........

I have a Corgi and a Corgi mix, so you can guess what I like! They might not be the best with children because they tend to try and herd them and nip at heels. Not all of them do, but it's not uncommon. Just part of the working nature of the breed.

My dog growing up was a Lab mix my parents got from the pound. She was smart, endless energy, loved everybody.

I'll always be a Dane girl but their short life spans are starting to weigh pretty heavy on me. This last Dane was a mix with lab that I got thinking he'd live a little longer. Wrong. We're coming up on his eighth year and he's always, always been an inside dog btw and I'm starting to see the signs that he's going downhill.
My second favorite dog is a Corgi. I just love those little guys. In truth, I've never met a dog I didn't like but my next dog will be a Corgi or Corgi mix rescue.
