Brahmas make a good choice. Of course they come in standard and bantam size too. They are called the gentle giant and are known more as a meat bird so they are a general purpose chicken. I love all the colors in them.

yeah he just agreed to a silkie!! but we already agreed that we'd get the other to from a place that doesnt carry silkies so the're out :'( i think we're getting a buff brahma! heres what we're planning to name them:

Black Star: Margo
Black Austrlorp: Edith
Buff Brahma: Agnes
