Just a fun poll to see which you like more. And why?

This is a tough decision for me. I love my standards because they are great layers and really friendly besides. But my bantams are also friendly, more exotic, don't eat as much, and in my experience are fairly good layers. One fun fact is that bantam eggs are smaller than standard eggs, but the yolks are almost as big! Because they have less white but almost as much yolk, my family loves bantam eggs boiled. So I think I gotta go with bantams!

I have crossed my favorite bantam, a Sebright, with my favorite large breed, a Spitzhauben, (well they did it themselves,) to create a middle-sized offspring that I call Sprights. They are yet young, but I am optimistic about this 'designer' mix.

I can't choose. I love my standards for egg laying and I have a EE roo that is particularly handsome. But I also love my bantams because they are so tiny and have so much personality!!!like just yesterday, one of my D'uccle cockerels junped up on top of the roof to crow twice and then jumped right back down! He flew at least 8 feet straight up!!

My D'anver, Pip, just hatched some standard eggs that I gave her, 100% hatch rate!! I have a bantam cochin who is sitting on D'uccle eggs too! So they are great broodies!

Here are a BUNCH of pictures of my Biels, D'uccles, and layer flock. And the chicks and Mama!

I love your Sprites! Their little half-crests are so cute! Have you tried breeding a Sprite and a Sprite together?

Your birds are beautiful! I agree, bantams are so tiny for their big personalities!
